De dienst communicatie is verantwoordelijk voor het communicatiebeleid en het beleid op sponsoring en fondsenwervinggebied. Hoofdtaken zijn interne en externe communicatie, sponsoring en fondsenwerving, ondersteuning uitvoering patiëntenvoorlichting, (bedrijfs-) journalistiek, wetenschapsvoorlichting en het mediabeleid .
